Re: Out of Character Banter

Still playing with my picture and description, but thought I'd jump in and mention I decided to go with the random roll technique. But, I did have the "advantage" of only rolling 4 powers, and I am a big fan of using "optional powers" to make a more coherent character. So I was lucky that my first power was Body Resistance which provides Regeneration as an optional power, so that's 3 of my 4 powers right there. I will admit I did pick his talents though, since I already had a good feel for the concept by that time.

What I do like is I ended making a character that I would have never made on my own, with a really cool backstory informed by his physical form and powers that I never would have come up with normally.

Re: Out of Character Banter

Okay, and now I have finalized my picture. I'll get some words up for his description at some point, but the picture I have posted in the description is exactly what he looks like. So he's definitely not your typical guy next door.

What version of the website are you using? On the Responsive site the pictures don't seem to change the font size at all.

Re: Out of Character Banter

That is one of the benefits of randomly rolling, you can end up with a decidedly unique character that take shape with some tweaking and creative inspiration. That's one of the reasons I didn't go strictly point buy.

Ms.Sanderson: Do you want me to post in a private message for you? The other option is to open the pic in a new tab perhaps? Is it just the pics or is it also the text?

Also, many of the fine print is tiny settlements and not super important, but the blips mark the route from the train you'd end up taking.

Re: Out of Character Banter

The pictures are so large they make the text inordinately small. I use an I-Pad to view the site. Perhaps you could make a thread just for pic?

Re: Out of Character Banter

Yes, the Chapter 1, scene 1 thread at the Bureau of Investigation is the introductory thread. I just posted the mission data and maps like a wiki in that Mission thread, for notes of importance, etc, and another just for you in the Maps and Pics thread.

I can’t see that thread. I believe this is an issue of group permission. I only have access to group 0. Everyone else has access to Groups 0,1, & 2.

Re: Out of Character Banter

Oh dang, yes, you are correct. I didn' switch you over after adding you for the dice roller.

Should be corrected now.

Thanks everyone for being patient with me, it's been several years since I GMed a game on RPoL and I'm feeling the rust this time around.

Now that it seems like we are through the site downtime, I'll try to get some posting done today. Thanks for hanging in there!

Luckily for me it was over the weekend, which is when I tend to have the least amount of time to devote to RPoL.

Re: Out of Character Banter

So something I like to do when I start a game is to poll everyone, if they want to respond, with their top five favorite story genres and something interesting they'd like to see incorporated into our game.

Ansar doesn't know how close he is to the truth on those creatures. ^_^

Uhhh that's a lot of Horror.

I'm not really a horror person myself. I don't hate it, just not my preferred cup of tea, especially in overwhelming doses like Ms. Sanderson's player wants, lol.

I like thrilling heroics as Jayne calls it. Drama. Suspense. Good story. Combat. Honestly, I'm pretty open as long as we're having fun. =)
