Gendering infants is terribly cruel, to my way of thinking (they know what they are - studies with toddlers left monitored by CCTV that show them playing happily until an adult is heard approaching, when they pick up the "correct" toys for their gender, make me so sad, never mind all the passive/stud branding from the very cradle).

Although if those were a thing in the 18th century, they'd be held around the time the child got gendered clothing, about 4ish...if you were thinking that for the hare, most wild hares get eaten by owls/badgers/foxes before they live that long.

You can still blow things up, though. Just not in the Wood.

Say, just on the general theme of terrible things under the ground, anyone else here watched The Borderlands? Got it recently and even if I'm disappointed by the ending being only fine and fitting to its buildup (Fake Documentary Q has spoilt me) as opposed to great, it's really solid in terms of found footage storytelling. The characters are all distinctly flawed, but not to the extent you just want them to get et at once, and the combination of things left unresolved/buildup of dread is enough for the film to scrape itself a little hole at the back of one's head for hours after.

Master Palmer, I do hope you're packing a Holy Grenade of Antioch...
