Yes, a goody two-shoes Cyber-Knight wracked with guilt over all the mistakes he made in war.

Or a fresh-faced youth just about to make those mistakes. Whatever you think is more appropriate, I like both concepts.

I think it's conditions, not the age itself. But let's not digress with my bad life choices and how I managed to escape...

Ok, I think my character is ready. I'm thinking fresh-faced but talented Cyber-Knight who was raised with stories of the Cyber-Knights' honor and glory... and is finding it hard to reconcile that with the hit in reputation after the Tolkeen war (that happened in the SR timeline, right?).

If I can't take Code of Honor Hindrance (because I already have CoH Limitation from the Iconic Framework), I can take Overconfident. Let me know if anything else requires changing (I have no idea why it added Healing and Relief on its own -.-)

Name would be Ulysses Willbrand.

If we are able to start out knowing each other, or at least some of each other, Jessica benefits from having someone to protect, preferably someone with their own magic but being comfortable with techno wizard device use is the only real requirement, so I think any of the three of you could qualify.

If you are interested in having discovered her, or been discovered by her, in some way let me know.

Most psychics are fairly comfortable with Technowizardry, there is no mechanical requirement at all so as long as you think it is helpful we can do it.  I just need to know what kind of first encounter you are looking for, something that would make sense to your character.

Looks like you could change those if you wanted to by deleting them and choosing something else.  Nothing in the text that I see makes them CK default powers.  They are innate, and the 1st use each turn is a free action.  So that's nice.

Sorry. RL got a bit crazy.

So Gage is a D'Norr Combat Mage from Dweomer City but was at Tolkeen during some of the siege. He...has some trauma from it, to put it mildly, and after being left for dead wandered off and eventually joined the Legion. He's not...necessarily in need of a protector, but I wouldn't mind having some friendship or partnership with someone potentially. I'm thinking of playing him as a bit of an intellectual and he's got the Mild-Mannered hindrance as he's semi-quiet and reserved, soft-spoken maybe not sure, that sort of thing.

Okay, quick rules question:

For one of my Hero's Journey rolls, I rolled:

quote:
Some powers become second-nature to the psionic. Choose a power your character knows; when she successfully activates it, she gains the raise effect automatically.

Indigo also has the Edge:

quote:
BIO-MANIPULATION
...

When using blind, confusion, lower Trait, silence, sloth, slumber, or stun against a single target, if the Melter activates with a raise and the target fails to resist, the target gains a level of Fatigue in addition to any other effects.

So the question is, does the "gains the raise effect automatically" from the Hero's Journey roll satisfy the "activates with a raise" condition of Bio-Manipulation?

That is why it says activates with a raise, rather than "Rolls a raise" there are a few ways to get something to activate a raise and any of them will trigger that effect.  Sounds like you found yourself a good plan and should go for it.

Yes, but it still is predicated upon you making a successful roll on your AB skill.  "when she successfully activates it"

So, a 4 becomes an 8.

Sorry all, been struggling to find a picture that approximated what was in my mind. Ended up having to build a character portrait in X-COM to get it close. I've added it to the character description. Need to write something up when I have a bit more time.

I would say that depends mostly on what kinds of blind rolls you tend to make without needing our input.  If you use notice a lot for ambushes we should include that, common knowledge could work that way too, parry and or toughness can matter although they can be fairly situational and combat posts tend to have more complexity to them in any case.

In reply to Jessica (msg # 52):

I am of the opinion that a game with meta-currency like bennies shouldn't have blind rolls.  This would literally take away player agency by denying you the opportunity to spend them.  I may think it's dumb to spend a benny on a given notice roll, but that's the players' call.

So, if everyone could please put the following into your biography lines:

# of Bennies, Parry, Toughness, Wounds and Fatigue.  I don't particularly care what format, but this is one that I've seen.

It's also worth nothing that Boost/Lower Trait is on the Bio-Manipulation list.

So with just a normal use of the Lower Trait half, he would lower an adversary's trait by two die types and gives 1 level of fatigue with a standard success.
