Do we know for sure if the clink of chains is from chains restraining the figures?

Bosco doesn't know anything for sure.  For now, he was just trying to scratch his head and learn to count.

Is Bosco telling Elly & Berthold not to move the boulder?

(Who knows, it might be there to contain a quartet of ghouls or whatever other nasties, all the more likely as we're looking for only a pair of prisoners and these figures haven't said anything as yet).

Had Berthold them on his line of sight when he had looked for heat souces?

If so, and  having seen no such heat sources, this would indicate they're not living beings...

No it is not in his line of sight.

Does Bosco have infravision?

If not and if he hasn't he talked to (any of) the four figures we can alway come back in a bit..

Unfortunately, I don't think hobbits have dark vision in MERP.   (I'd be very pleased if someone told me I am wrong on this)

Right now, Bosco has not spoken to anyone or anything.  He is leaving the figures alone and trying to find out if there are goblins about or where is the next tunnel from which goblins could appear.

The floor is generally uneven and bumpy.  Smoothes in places from wear/footfalls, in other places dirt between stones levels things a bit.  But there is no overall slant in one direction.

Does anyone apart from Berthold hear the ""Who is there?" question?

Just to clarify.  Three bundles, two showed heat signs of life.  And when she moved her arms Berthild heard chains, so not tied with anything a knife can cut.  Please carry on.

So was Bosco able to release all the locks on their chains?

IIRC we're here to rescue two people.
I think we've found them: one unconscious and one dead. (Happy to be corrected here.)
We've also found another person (Rhûniel).

Elly's suggestion is based on a) these are the only folks we know about (that are in need of rescue), b) chasing coin, treasure or goblins is very secondary to the rescue and c) that we need to withdraw to try and heal the unconscious fellow. (Also, burying the dead fellow is a decent thing to do.)

All this said, is Berthold ok with withdrawal?

Yes, through he would kike to avenge his comrade (and his own eye), he agrees

@ Incanus - is it correct that Rhuniel does not require healing?

Would a further healing spell help the unconscious fellow?

Further healing spells will help recover hits but not the other damage that the man is suffering from (internal injuries).  For her, it is only hits damage, she will recover with natural healing.

Do we have way to know if he is stable right now? If further healing spell could stabilise him? Or if he is still continuously worsening?
