Re: The Portside Tavern (OOC Chat)

Sure, Narmer would fit in as part of the gang. I'll read over the current heist thread and see if I can fit in a good entrance for tomorrow.

Re: The Portside Tavern (OOC Chat)

So, no one's gonna use the Flashback? Remember, they exist.

Just asking if I can move it along assuming you are gonna be using the old carriage.

Re: The Portside Tavern (OOC Chat)

Hang fire a sec on that GM,

I definitely feel we should use a flashback, and this whole conversation where Narmer introduces the idea of getting a carriage and Orlovs response could have been part of that. It could even have been yesterday, after the exploration of the mansion with Carina, Narmer comes up and says "Hey, assuming we do get some  treasure, how do we get it aways? Is there a carriage? Let's get it ready."

And Orlov says "Narmer? It's your time to shine..."

Wiremu could help, if he's around...

Fine then, I'll wait until the weekend's over.

I can't do it, it doesn't make sense for Signorina, and I don't see anyone else stepping up.

I would have posted but, like Orlov said, it really would make no sense for Selvaggia to involved in any flashbacks here.

Re: The Portside Tavern (OOC Chat)

Flashbacks can't change established fiction, but you do have some options. The established fiction regarding your character's situation is thus: you were captured in Puerto Serena and brought to the governor's mansion. There, you were treated as a noble-born hostage until the governor could ransom you back to Valdesia. Basically, you had a room in the mansion and could move about somewhat freely, but you had guards keeping an eye on you and you couldn't leave the mansion.

But then you tried to escape and somehow, your escape attempt failed. So, the governor had enough, so he threw you into the dungeon cell until he could figure out what to do with you. So, any flashback here would probably involve fleshing out the failed escape attempt and how its remnants could help you in this situation. Perhaps you seduced a servant and got him to hide a wagon with supplies somewhere as part of your escape plan that failed to be put into motion. Or something else. Imagination's the limit. Don't get me wrong, it would probably be a 2-3 Stress flashback and most likely involve an Action roll, but it could help you a lot.

I suppose sweet-talking a servant into doing that for her would have made some sense at the time. That would probably be a Sway roll? Consort does not seem really appropriate for this.

Re: The Portside Tavern (OOC Chat)

Alright. And the flashback has a cost of 2 or 3 stress? As I am at 3/9 stress already, pushing myself for a bonus die probably isn't a very good idea.

Re: The Portside Tavern (OOC Chat)

There is one last thing I'd like to enquire about before committing to a course of action.

Siren's Call special ability:
You can push yourself to make yourself seem irresistible to someone for a short moment and … make them try to appease you as if you were someone they treasure. You can also choose to add either one or both additional features (each additional feature costs 1 stress):
  • It lasts for about a minute or so instead of just a short moment.

Could this particular ability be used in lieu of the Sway roll? If so, is its baseline effect sufficient or would its duration have to be extended for the flashback to work as intended?

If you can come up with a way as to how he was able to do what you wanted him to do before it wore off then yes.

Re: The Portside Tavern (OOC Chat)

Fair enough. I've been in a bit of a slump lately and do not at this time possess the mental/creative acuity required to narrate much of anything, so in order to keep the game moving along I will just roll Sway for the flashback.

Signorina Selvaggia rolled 6 using 1d6 with rolls of 6. Flashback (Sway, 1 dot).

No complaints there!

Alright, so, Selvaggia, you can just tell Orlov that there's a wagon or a carriage in pristine condition hidden at the edge of the nearby jungle and it's gonna be there. You can just go and get it.

Re: The Portside Tavern (OOC Chat)

Thanks, I had that backwards.

So I should be rolling the LOWEST attribute (ie Prowess etc)  not the action rating that I'm using (attune). So that would be one. If I roll less than my stress I clear that, if I roll more, bad things happen.

Can I roll now as part of this scene or do I have to wait for downtime? I might need two rolls, lol.

Welcome Sean and Ardeshir! A Swashbuckler and a Reaver! Just what we need!

Hey GM, if I blow off stress by summoning sea creatures, do I need to summon them first?

They would be your "vice providers" in this scenario, so yes.
