After the events of today, the city does not wait to begin rebuilding. despite the late hour, some begin cleanup projects, while others flock to Tivoli Gardens, the ancient amusement park, which is now controlled by the elves. Despite some elves' normal reluctance to mingle with others, the park is opened and powered up to its full nighttime glory. Food and drink from various cultures is brought in, and the leaders of the respective factions gather and celebrate with the citizenry.
At this point, we are officially between Acts. No one has cards of any kind, and there is no need to make die rolls. Everything here is through discussion and role play.
Everyone's character sheets can be adjusted to read 10 XP earned. Some have already spent XP, and anyone can spend at this point.
Before we move to the next Act, the following things
must take place:
- The players must decide who will remain in Copenhagen and who will take the flight to start a new mission in Ethiopia. The brief information the people who were at the airport got about that mission was that an ally of the Delphi Council there is acting strangely and they suspect foul play which might include mental manipulation. Not only will experts be needed to check for such chicanery, but as it is close to the Nile Empire, the capacity for trouble is high and experts in solving those kinds of problems are welcome too. splitting into a group of five and a group of four is preferred.
- Once the groups are set, the people in the group need to know enough about each other to avoid major surprises. For example, in one game I had a young magician named Hamalek. He had some secrets which would not be revealed right away, and that is fine, but it would have been out of line for him to come in dressed as a Soldier of Fortune and suddenly doing nothing but magic.
- All of you are present here except Johnny who is at the local hospital. Anyone who wants to take time out to check on Johnny can do so. At least one person must do so before we continue. Ash knows both the previous and new players and can facilitate introductions.
- The following NPCs will remain here throughout the topic: Mayor Madsden, Danish Army Major Nielsen, Eruvel Cathfaine, Tongue Lasher Frold, and the Viking Leader Tatrici Sjodrekkar. Of these, only Eruven and Tatrici have not made direct contact with the group. At least one of the people who will be continuing the storyline that began here must speak to Eruvel, and one must speak to Tatrici. (This does not have to be the same person, but the Copenhagen storyline needs the information they provide.)
- Each character must complete any intended upgrades before we move on. Saving XP is fine, but please don't forget about it and try to spend in the middle of a Dramatic Encounter later on.
In addition, there are things you may do. The following is not an extensive list, but can serve as seeds for ideas.
- You can observe how the local citizens react to one another.
- You can hang around listed NPC characters to see how they react to one another.
- You can request private conversations with one or more characters.
- You can attempt to research the area and its history.
Once I know what's up I will finalize groupings and send people on their way.
