Exalted 2e Anything goes

I've had my resurgence of real time playing Exalted with a group, so I'm much more open to the ST pitch than before.

A bit of my draw to 2e is conflict resolution. Be it social combat, or either physical combat. I also love conflict that relies on many non-lethal conflict. By non-lethal I mean make it, but not break it. Making money in game. Being well liked or feared. Discovering a body of information, that is investigative or lore or occult based. There are many conflicts that don't rely on combat, and still more that require 99% action with intent and ~1% rolling.

A bit of my personal dislikes is eschewing rolling when it doesn't favor the players, by having a chance they would by the presented default rules. I like when custom content is used, but I like it sparing, and gradual. One very sore spot was a game I played that had the main antagonist use custom charm that I, as the player, never learned HOW it worked. It seemed to be BS ST fiat, and that wasted RL months of trying to understand it. After all, they were the MAIN antagonist...AND the ONLY antagonist. It was...the upteenth time I'd seen that by them, but it was years ago. I still have sour taste in my mouth about that though.

So if the game uses Exalted 2e as a main framework, I'm very flexible on the ST's own vision of the game they want to run, and then craft a character from scratch.

That said, I have a few short blurbs of characters I'd like to model, if it's not just fitting but a comfortable and convenient fit. This just illustrate part of my creative temperament.

I'll add them if I don't get a bite, as it will be a good "bump" that isn't filler.

  • Don't like freeform, so I play with systems.
  • Exalted 2e is the search this time
  • I'm very keen of adapting to the ST rules
  • I'd like to be part of a discussion, as it often suggests in the many sources, rather than spectator.
  • I like action, be it pedestrian or life and death. I like doing, even if that action is discussion.
  • I don't like feeling like my character's traits are moot by ST fiat for plot alone. I think a plot should be altered by player characters' action.

I cross my fingers and hope there will be interest. :)
