View All Character Sheets

I mostly take the tech as I find it, grateful for all the goodies Jase has bestowed.

But I'm in the midst of character generation for a new gameand it occurred to me, as I was shifting back and forth among tabs to see how various PCs are progressing, that I would love to have a GM option to line up all the character sheets in a single screen. I don't even NEED to be able to manipulate the data, just like to see where everyone is at the same time.

Be useful too during play to monitor hit points, magic points, fatigue, and what have you.

Thanks.

Maybe it's me, but either way I think about laying this out -- either side by side (left to right) or one after the other (up and down) -- does not appeal to me, I'd much rather use browser tabs.  There'd just be so much scrolling I'd get annoyed and confused!  (c:

I have to agree.  In my experience, a character sheet is typically 8 or 10 screens long on my fairly big monitor.  I already have some issues scrolling through a single character sheet looking for something specific, but scrolling through 6 of them would be pretty awful.  The only use I would make of this (which just occurred to me and might be a little compelling after all) would be if I just want to know what everyone's Listen skill is (as an example).  I could bring up the combined sheet page and use browser search to go through them all pretty quickly.  Of course, that assumes that, when looking at just the portion the skill is on, I can figure out what sheet I'm on.

It would be also less useful if I want a skill that is not consistently spelled, such as "Knowledge (Dungeoneering)" which might be abbreviated several different ways.

So I rate this a 0.  It wouldn't bother me to ignore it, but I'd probably never use it.

Wow! I didn't realize some games had that much volume to character sheets! I can see the whole of one in my Call of Cthulhu games with one Page Down (except for Character Background maybe).

With something like Traveller there are concise format character sheets and more developed ones.  It might be worthwhile to develop something like that for other games here, too?  That way, a single document in Group Z could hold all the concise character sheets for easy scrolling.

Just a thought...
