Some tried to suppress the spread of birth defects by instituting policies in the name of public safety. Others worked to prove that those effected were merely people who needed help and instruction to control their abilities and use them for the public good. A tenuous truce was reached, and a school was built to educate and train those with abilities. Meanwhile, there are those who work from the shadows to undermine it all. A fragile balance persists. One group has the ability to try and maintain the balance. It will not be easy, it will not be overnight, and it will certainly not be without sacrifice and loss. Still, they know what needs to be done and strive to save all they can. Will you be one of them? Will you fight the good fight? Help those of your kind as well as others? These are dangerous and volatile times, a world poised on the edge of ruin, where faith and common sense are becoming a rarity, replaced by distrust, fear, and anger. Powers' Academy for the Gifted! There was a time when people with superhuman powers and abilities were merely the stuff of fiction. As history has proven time and time again, the stuff of imagination often comes to be. Through various events and a few decades of advancement, we now have these gifted individuals. Hidden from the judgmental eyes of society and the government, no one knows for sure when the first mutant was born. Similarly, hidden from the eyes of anyone without the highest of military and government clearances, no one knows when the first genetically altered being was created. All we know for certain is that one day, it became very clear that there were people that were not normal. This fascinated some, repulsed others, and frightened most. Will you help forge a new future? This is a reboot of an old game I did years ago. Thanks to my Co DM's I have been able to bring back some of the old cast. That made the game grate in the first place some of there stories have already been retrofitted to fit the new game. For the most part, the game will be starting from ground zero except for as I said some of the casts backstories. The game itself is an Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Superhuman, with a smidge of Drama setting. In a world were superhumans are for the most part excepted but you still have those extremists that not only fear but hunt them like animals and thin there are other superhumans that are no better than the humans. Its probably going to be fairly slow-paced, free-form, sandbox the DM's will help guide the main plot along. But this is your story to tell if you think it will help drive the plot line along. Don't be shy post it and the DM's will work it into there story. I aim for the first few game days to be characters establishing relationships and settling in and then the next stage will be when the real mayhem starts. This is an ADULT rated game... We have made it past the first leg of the game where characters were able to establish relationships and settling in. Now we are on to the phase next where we have set in motion a bit of mayhem for the character to deal with. Are you ready to jump into the frying pan? This is an ADULT rated game... Powers' Academy for the Gifted! is an open world, where you will have the chance to bring your characters to life. You, as a writer, should be fully capable of creating your own plots/connections with other writers. This is essential. GM leadership, while present, will not hold your hand throughout the whole process. We do not have any rules/restrictions on writing styles, gender, sexuality, and so forth. Just treat your fellow writers with respect, respect the setting, and have fun! If this sounds like the game for you come join the fun.
