The Matrix Still Has You - Mature
Have you ever felt out of place? Like, the things of this world just didn't seem quite real? Have you been wondering for a long time, why do I exist, what is the meaning of life? What if I told you that the truth is out there, and I can help you find it? Would you be willing to do whatever it takes to find that truth? And once you found it, would you be able to accept it?
The cold of alienation once chilled me to my bones. The best friend I ever had committed suicide when he was sixteen. I felt so alone. My parents, my siblings, my classmates, teachers, and friends, were all so ignorant and dishonest. I let rage build up inside me, scowled when people said, "Thank you," and, "Have a nice day." I glared at them because I knew they didn't mean it. They were all just pretending to be nice. But I didn't feel like pretending, and I wasn't nice. What was I? I was just lost, in ignorance. But then I kept searching, and digging. And one day I found it. Suddenly, I was free. I felt alive for the very first time. With the exhilaration of flying, I left this world behind. The world and its lies and distractions. And now I want you to know the same joy that I have.
The Matrix isn't all about action, guns, martial arts, and computer hacking. It's about so much more. It's about philosophy, religion, and the pursuit of truth. It's that passion that drives me.
With an emphasis on writing quality, in this game I'll let players tell their own stories. But this is my own version of The Matrix, with a little more emphasis on realism, and on the core philosophies of The Matrix that I want to explore. So don't assume too much.
