Kindly choose a single color to represent your character's dialogue, no matter the medium of communication used. Provided there are no disputes, that will be your color and no one else should use it. Please observe the following five guidelines when formatting your in-character posts, when possible:
- in quotes, plain text — "I have a bad feeling about this." = normal audible speech.
- in quotes, small text — "Stay low, stay quiet, and follow me." = whispered or subvocalized speech.
- in quotes, bold text — "Incoming! Everyone down!" = emphatic or shouted speech.
- in italics, no quotes — Almost got it, just a little further. Yes! = internal monologue.
- in italics bracketed by tildes — ~Doctor, can you hear me?~ = telepathic projection.
I reserve the following colors for NPC dialogue:
brown (corporeal sentients),
goldenrod (non-corporeal sentients),
grey (corporeal quasi-sentients), and
yellow (non-corporeal quasi-sentients). Furthermore,
orange is reserved for any out-of-character comments such as game mechanics. Please separate any and all OOC comments from your in-character post with the use of a hard rule (<hr>), place "OOC:" without quotes at the start of your comments, and make all comment text
orange and
small. I will also, on occasion, use
red for OOC comments to which I wish to draw attention.
