(IC) AD&D 1st edition "Old School"

I see a lot of later edition games of D&D being run or advertised here but I never got interested in the editions after AD&D 1st edition.  Now I am feeling a bit nostalgic I was wondering how much interest there would be in an old school, 'traditional', 1st edition game?

I would be interested.  I've been on a bit of a nostalgia kick as well.

Always up for some old school adventuring. What did you have in mind?

(IC) AD&D 1st edition "Old School"

I like big parties, especially at lower levels as I think it gives people a better chance of surviving as well as a good mix of races and classes.

Ideally all the main races should be represented, humans, elves, dwarves and halflings.  2 MU's, 2 Clerics, 2 Thieves and 4 Fighters (or relevant sub-classes) would be ideal but we could get by with half that number in a pinch.  5 or 6 players would be the minimum as I don't want to play the bad guys, the civilians and then have to run NPC's as well.

I would be looking for Good or Neutral alignments, evil characters tend to complicate matters or just ruin the game for everyone else and I really don't want to run a game for all evil characters, like I said "Old School".  Be the Heroes of the story :)

I have pretty much all the original AD&D stuff, so heaps of modules to choose from and it would be the World of Greyhawk setting, very likely starting out in The City of Greyhawk.

Assuming the three of you are all still interested I will wait to see if we can get at least two more people who are interested (but even more is better).  If we get 5 or more expressions of interest I will register a game and rMail you all to let you know.

If you have any further questions feel free to mail me :)

In reply to CaptainHellrazor (msg # 5):

Love 1st (& 2nd Ed) DnD. 3.5 was okay but was the so easily min/maxed it sorta pushed me out of wanting to play it regularly with most folks. 5th can be fun.

So If you get enough people. I'd love to play.

I stumbled across this article a while back.

Certainly got my 'old school' nostalgia fired up a bit.

Well, I'd like to play! Played under National Acrobat before, good DM. Ski-bird and I have swapped rmail about games in the past, so far seems like a good start. I'm sure a few more folks will drift in as we go.

The World of Greyhawk AD&D 1st edition game has been created and advertised in the "Wanted Players" forum.  This thread can be closed or removed now, thankyou.
