IC: Marvel Super Heroes (TSR-FASERIP)

I never ask a man what his business is, for it never interests me. What I ask him about are his thoughts and dreams.--Hp Lovecraft

Premise- Welcome to Earth 1313 where the world is not all that it seems to be. Where the heroes that the world knows of ARE YOU.  The premise of this world is the HP Lovecraft was a very powerful mutant who's very existence spawned off it's own reality ( similar to Marvel Zombies) Earth 1313.

Earth 1313 isn't much different from normal earth outside of the fact that it has eldritch and lovecraftian horrors.  Heroes fight villains and the things that go bump in the night. There will be side plots for the PC's as I will ask for a background, and the group will be a new Team of Heroes created to combat just this.  It won't be just heroes fighting villains there will be an over all plot and storyline within this. The story in my head will revolve around defeating monsters, saving innocents, and of course creating a world together.

Inspiration
“I know always that I am an outsider; a stranger in this century and among those who are still men.”-HP Lovecraft
Obviously Lovecraft.

I love your idea so much. Lovecraft offers much for the imagination. FASERIP has the right mechanics for odd powers, unspeakable horrors, and uncertain adversaries.

As an unabashed horror-nerd, I'm definitely interested.  If this turns into a proper game, I will be submitting an RTJ.

I have played MSH before, although it's been a while.  Admittedly though, those tales were all super-hero based.  I haven't ever seen the system 're-skinned' to support a different genre ... but it's certainly versatile enough.

I have the Ultimate Powers Book PDA which includes the addidium powers. That alone makes me interested as I enjoy playing new character designs. My last Marvel inspired game died from GM burn out but it was a fun romp and we managed to get through the main story arc before the world hit the fan (our world to be clear).
As for the horror aspects, I don't know a great deal about any of that as its not something that interest me, but I would be willing to try for the sake of a good marvelesque type story.

Hmm. Not usually a huge horror fan, but I have previously random-rolled a character for another game a long time (game died quick, of course) than ended up being horror-adjacent, so this isn't completely out of my bailiwick.

I always liked Marvel Super Heroes, though I like Champions/Hero better. The one good thing was that Marvel was very simple to understand and you could make characters quick, whereas Champions takes a lot more work to make a character.
