IC: Space-Opera (Scum & Villainy or Fate Core)?

Based on Blades in the Dark, Scum & Villainy is a space-opera RPG.

I'm envisioning a bit of a mix of Dark Matter, Killjoys, Farscape, Guardians of the Galaxy &  Firefly.   Currently, I'm thinking of the following set-up:

Player-characters were held in stasis in a prison awaiting transport to a penal colony.  When the spaceship they're on gets attacked, the PCs manage to get to an impounded ship and get off the transport before it blows...  We'll need to develop a reason why they need to stay together, but that shouldn't be too hard to come up with...

I have almost zero experience with Scum & Villainy (Forged in the Dark).  But I've loads of experience with Fate Core., though, and I can see a number of ways to work the clock-mechanics of S&V into the Fate approach...

But, really...  is there enough interest to actually put this together?

I’d be up for that. Or down.

I'd play that game in either FATE or FitD. I have a passing familiarity with both systems, own Blades in hardcover, have the FitD Bundle of Holding PDFs for the rest, and also own the FATE book (I just have to find it) and of course Evil Hat makes the FATE PDFs priced at Pay What You Want.

That sounds like a fun game, though I know nothing of either system.

Interested.  How much will the PCs know/remember about themselves initially?  And how much will the players know about their characters initially?  :)

EDIT: Much more familiar with and interested in FATE Core, especially since the GM is also more familiar with it...

What Shengami said. :) Also I wouldn't mind a pregen, if it speeds things up.

I would play either. Pretty easy to hack Scum And Villainy for use with FATE. Could even use existing FATE builds like Tachyon Squadron, Uprising, or Kaiju Incorporated as the basis.

Okay, looks like there's enough potential interest.  So, I've put the game together.

I opted to go with Fate Core, with some add-ons to model the progress-clocks from Scum & Villainy.

@OakMaster:
I'd prefer that the player knows as much as possible about the stats of the character.  I'm requiring two defined Aspects (you'll get one pre-defined) and the pinnacle skill.  If you wanted to go so far as to map everything out, you're welcome to.

Characters won't take very long to start recovering many of their memories--though some of it will remain blocked for a long time, to allow for a 'personality shift" of some sort, whatever that might be.

The two Aspects to be defined would be: High-Concept & Personality.  The Trouble-Aspect will be pre-defined by the game ("Wanted By the Galactic Authority")
