IC: Star Trek Adventures Captain's Log GM-Less
Checking to see if there's any interest in a GM-less game of Star Trek Adventures Captain's Log, using the tables included in the rules to generate our ongoing missions. You would need access to the rulebook to play.
My idea is this: each player plays a single character aboard their own ship. Per the rules, any station that doesn't have a specific character generated defaults to the ship stats (System + Discipline). You'd stat up your preferred role, and everything else defaults.
The ships are all mysteriously pulled to a previously undiscovered Caretaker array, and all are damaged in transit. Surrounding the array is a veritable ship's graveyard to dig through. Besides spare parts to fix your ship, what other mysteries will be found? What about the array itself?
Once everyone's ships are in working order, the fleet can begin to try and find their way home, but the convoy will only be as fast as the slowest ship (lowest Engines stat)
An underlying idea is that everyone's ship is the "best" at something. Maybe your ship is part of Starfleet Corps of Engineers. Maybe you're a medical vessel. Maybe you're an Orion pleasure yacht that would be perfect for hosting diplomatic functions or First Contact meetings. Regardless, everyone is going to have to agree to work together for everyone to survive.
