Re: ANARCH OOC
I don't know where else to post this but took a break from my novel to think about Dimitri and I had so much fun that I came up with this opening:
Yuri screamed in pain. Every nerve on his back was on fire. He had lost all sense of time, the pain seemed eternal and unending.
"You know what some people call me?"
The man was back, the man with the evil face and deep voice. He spoke in a thick russian accent but the pain stopped when he talked so Yuri listened with all his heart and soul.
"They call me 'The Devil'. I do not understand this."
The man paused and the pain resumed. It crawled slowly down his back another fraction of an inch. If only the pain was faster, it might have an end but at this pace, Yuri knew the pain would last forever.
"I do not understand because I think of myself as such nice guy."
The pain resumes as soon as the man is finished. Why does he talk? Why does he stop? Why does he start and stop and start and stop and the pain starts and stops and starts and stops. Yuri's vision starts to go black but the man slaps him across the face, keeping him awake.
"Do you know why I am such nice guy?"
The pain stops and Yuri can stop screaming long enough to answer.
"NO, I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!"
The large, brutal looking man smiles and shakes his head.
"Now is not a good time to be telling me lies, Yuri. You know why you're here."
"OH GOD NO I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING PLEASE JUST LET ME GO!"
The pain resumes again and Yuri's words turn into unintelligible screams.
"Again with the lies. You are here because my shipment, it went missing."
"I DIDN'T TOUCH NO SHIPMENT."
Something wet and warm slaps across Yuri's screaming face. He opens his eyes and sees a large piece of what looks like meat right in front of his face. The big man smiles and waves it around.
"And I did not just carve off a piece of your shoulder. See this?"
He keeps slapping the piece of flesh in Yuri's face.
"Just because you say it does not make it true."
The pain resumes, now on the other side. Again, the pain is agonizingly slow as Dimitri slowly skins Yuri alive. Through the pain and screams Yuri lets out a few audible words.
"IF I KNEW I'D TELL YOU! I DON'T KNOW I DON'T KNOW I DON'T KNOW"
The pain stops and the big, bald ugly face is in front of Yuri again.
"Why must we play these games Yuri? You have family to get back to, no? I have goryachiy kusok zadnitsy waiting back at my club. Why must we play?"
One of the large Russian men standing guard takes a quick phone call and Dimitri pauses. Yuri breathes a sigh of relief as the two talk. After the hours of pain he had experienced each second was pure bliss. Even though most of his bones were broken, his skin was hanging off his backs in strips and he only had one testicle remaining, Yuri was thankful for once both the talking and the pain had stopped at the same time.
The two men discuss something in hushed tones before the bald one comes back, smiling.
"Good news, Yuri. They found the shipment. Everything is as it should be."
Yuri sags down as much as he can with his arms chained over his head. Every word out of the man's mouth is like sweet nectar.
"Like I was saying earlier, you know why I am so nice?"
The man leans closer and Yuri musters up enough energy to shake his head. The man was so charming, so persuasive that he believed everything he was saying. This man wasn't the devil, he was nice and kind. Yuri should never have tried to take what didn't belong to him. Sure Yuri still didn't have any idea that he had even taken anything in the first place but he must have, this nice man was so convinced of it and he didn't seem the lying type. Yuri might not have remembered it but he must have taken it, but it didn't matter anymore, he was about to be forgiven.
"It is because I am so easy to forgive, Yuri. I forgive you."
With one swift motion, Dimitri sliced open Yuri's throat, nearly severing the head from the body. Blood poured down like a waterfall, splashing onto the warehouse floor before swirling down the drain. Within seconds, Yuri was dead and the blood stopped pouring. Dimitri glanced at it, a pang of hunger rising up but this man's gutter blood had no interest for him. He motioned for Ivan to let the body down.
"And make it disappear. No traces."
Dimitri went to wipe his blade off on Yuri's clothes but couldn't find a clean spot. He grabbed up a rag and wiped off the knife and tossed the bloody rag on Yuri's corpse. The lyme bath would probably dissolve the rag as well. Lyme did such a good job of getting rid of bodies. Better then a pig farm and a lot less maintenance.
Dimitri went into the back to change. He didn't want to be late for his date...
