In reply to Dungeonmaster (msg # 66):

Halflings or even Gnomes are great. but depends on what you want to do with your rogue.

Kobolds have bonuses to mining and trapmaking (real sneaky buggers).

Re: (OOC) Chat area
Well the thief has to be good as disable traps, opening locks, searching the area to a degree, ect.

The char I made def isn't strong but quick and smart. I pondered having it be a rogue/wizard and go for Arcane Trickster but eh, might not even go for a PRC.

Having a tibbit in cat form sneaking around and then hitting someone would be fun as it'll get sneak attack. From tiny claws.

Curious: You want a Ranged Rogue or a Melee type?

As long as you don't shoot me, it doesn't matter.

I like melee rangers.  But man alive, you dual wield at higher levels when multiple attacks kick in and you're just hating that die roller lol.

Rogue not ranger lol

Rogue have to set up a attack plan, sneak in and get them flat footed. You can nail a enemy with sneak attack big time. I've never actually played a ranged rogue, actually. They seem limited on ranged weapons.

*chuckles* Catform-Dodge, Mobility, Spring attack.

Also, going two-handed isn't that bad. You lose -2 but can gaim more by magic weapons, items, ect.

Re: (OOC) Chat area
pondered making a Lasher. Whip person. Don't see why rogues don't get whips so they do now lol

Kinda like catwoman haha.

Re: (OOC) Chat area
No matter what class a person plays.  Using a little imagination can create their own unique style.  No prestige class is needed to be cool.

Re: (OOC) Chat area
Well Darwin is not going anywhere near melee if he can help it. I think it is easier for a rogue to get regular sneak attacks in during melee than ranged, but I'm no expert on such things.

And I agree with Gromwell's statement, definitely.

Re: (OOC) Chat area
Yeah I've played a ton of classes and didn't go for a Prestige class.

Normally I go for a certain purpose but that changes :)

Darwin: If the rogue has someone to sneak attack with, yes. Or a highter initiative, can get them flat footed, ect. Number of things needed to get the sneak attack.

I got a book that has a crossbow with a 'sniper scope' that allows for sneak attack to be used from about 120' away. Nifty.

Having a tibbit in cat form won't attract attention depending on where its used.

So flat footed city lol

Yeah, and I realized after I posted that that I was thinking in terms of 5e rules, which are different.

I hate when that happens.  I TRIED to transfer my 3.5 ed Underdark storyline to a 5th edition....5th sucked in my opinion...and now I'm trying to transfer it all back and am confusing some of the info.... Grrr

OK...I'm back and I never want to see an insurance policy for at least 20 years. We just went through 60 years of records to find 35 life insurance plans of which nobody knew which was opened and which ones closed out.

Hi there. I am ready to play, but I think I still need to do something with my skills. Sorry for any delay, but I think I can get started.
