Re: (OOC) Chat Area

https://dnd.arkalseif.info/cla...in-wizard/index.html

The domain wizard is from UA....see the link above
Probably either conjuration or transmutation....

The other thing from UA is allowing me to give up scribe scroll for something useful like improved initiative

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

Your a wizard not a cleric lol.

Getting the spells automatically is a pain for me haha.

Persoanlly I really hate Conjurations. Trans can be interesting. Course could just go with a generalist. Or if you want to specialize, go for Master Specialis.

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

Dungeonmaster:
Allegro, what type of warruor would you want to make?

1. Fighter
2. Paladin
3. Barbarian
4. Ranger
5. Swashbuckler
6. Samurai (Ooriental Adventures only)

Fighter is my first choice.

So I could do transmutation, is getting the spells automatically an absolute no go, or just a small pain (that you can endure)?

I do not see any reason to change races, though there are some interesting ones out there

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

Honestly I'd go with Grey Elf.
+2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Con, -2 Str.
All else is the same as Elves.

Well it depends on the spell. It depends on where the group goes. If say your underground and you level you don't get the spell until you find it. If your in a town and you level, sure. Probably find someone you can get it from or using the knowledge from other spells you get it.

Keep in mind by specializing you lose quiet a bit. Transmutation you get more from but you happen to lose all abilites from 2 schools like Necromancy and Abjuration (randome ones)

Master Specialist (There's others of course)

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

Seeing as most are viewed as evil and it has a +2 or +3 (maybe +4) LA without hit diced-yes.

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

I think the drow of the underdark one was a +2 LA
Which would of course make a second level wizard,

Of course I would have so much fun
Feats to start
Magic in the blood (regional feat)
Then Gift of the Spider Queen (also from the drow of the underdark supplement)

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

Well either way I don't think it fits this game to be honest. Plus you won't have great saves, lower HP, and you get spell resistance which is a big thing.

You want the group to hate you worse? :)

And I don't think the dwarf would want to travel with a drow.

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

I am thinking about just going straight wizard, although the specialists look interesting, I think staying versatile makes the most sense....
Along with focus in alchemy.....

Fizzban might be a good first name
(Fizzban the Fabulous) a nickname
Timbers seems like a good last name

I could also see it as Fizzband Timbers

Which also describes one of my professions cooper, a mix of carpentry and blacksmithing to make barrels (and buckets)

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

Yeah don't pick cooper please. Its not on the list so won't get any bonuses or whatnot. Alchemy is a bit of a waste unless you got the right gear and whatever you make doesn't take a long time. Alchemy does have some different uses. Plus the profession isn't 'affected' by alchemy. Unless your a alchemist. And your not a artificer (nor am I allowing them).

In reply to Dungeonmaster (msg # 78):

Hey no worries I was just going to use it in background and talking (roleplay) not really planning to allocate into "profession: cooper"....

Just to check on some ideas I was having in terms of feats
not sure how you feel about things like:
Celestial familiar
Arcane Disciple

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

Celestiral Familar is fine. but normally I won't target a familiar. Arcane Disiple isn't good for a Wizard. You can get a lot of spells. Its better for say a Duskblade or say a Hexblade. Even a spellthief. Something with limited access. Maybe a bard.

Re: (OOC) Chat Area

Yeah. If you got a level 2 acid spell, using acid splatter provides 10' of ranged and 2d6 damage. Range is a bit sucky but its something.
