As the rogue goes to step into the next room, the floor seems to come alive! A massive limb comes out of the floor trying to slam into the elf but it misses!

The feathered creature moves forwards and swings his katana at the ooze. The blade sinks into the odd creature and he is able to pull it out.

Lyraian hits it with her sword. Her blade is pulled away after the hit, the acid barely missing it.

Gar moves and attacks it with his axe. He hits and pulls the blade out, and the ooze pulls away, dissapearing into the ground.

Lyrian has barely gotten warmed up, and stares at the spot where the creature was, sword raised for it to rise again.  When nothing happens, she lowers her blade and cleans it.  "What in the name of the gods was that?" she asks of all and sundry.

Rafink collects himself and tells what he knows...

That was a Grey Ooze if I am not mistaken.  Acid creature.  Love to grab things and disolve them...people too!  And they are really hard to spot, so even if you think the way is clear...we need to be careful.  If you are like me and like to blast things...might be good to know if we face one again that fire and cold will not harm them much....found that out the hard way one time...poor Uncle Snickerpants...but that is a story for another time...

The door is stuck shut but with the barbarian it can be opened up easily. Its another storeroom and has little of any worth like the storeroom beforehand.

Tai tilts his head. He starts to head down the southern area and is quiet.

The long narrow cavern is half-filled with a powerful underground river, racing along at a breakneck pace. The chamber is above 20-30 feet in width, and can stand on a narrow ledge overlooking one side of the river (north side). A bridge of stone spans the river, leading to a larger ledge on the south side. It looks as if the southern ledge might follow the course of the river some distance to the the east.

Gar follows Tai without word, his axe still in hand, as he approaches the opening to the river. He looks at the water, and sighs. He looks at Tai and nods with a toothy orcish smile.

He looks at Lyrian. "While a little coiin would be good, the Goal for me was to avenge the family that housed me, and rescue their family....which we did. We lost the farmers wife, but saved the girl..." The orc's features became softer when talking about the girl, but they became his usual warrior visage moments later.

"...as well as destroy the orcs who took them. If they are gone, i am satisfied. The farmer and his children will be safe and that is enough. Anything extra is a bonus."

He looks at Tai with a raised eyebrow. "Let's check the bridge...i don't fancy swimming that river."

"Same here," Lyrian says of the bridge.  She understood Gar's reasoning about coming here to stop the orcs, and she did want to make the world a safer place, she really did.  But dreaming about riches was a nice little fantasy...  She mentally shook herself and took a look at the bridge and far ledge, then heading over to the southern side to see if there was anything of interest or danger.  If nothing dangerous, she'll wave the others over.

If the elf doesn’t see any problems, Landor will slowly make his way over the bridge fully aware that he is very heavy and didn’t want to break the bridge. “So what do you think we will find in here?”

Rafink had been strangely quiet over the last bit of the journey, but he knew very little about this place where they found themselves, and the rest seemed to have at least some knowledge from the little bit of exploring they had already done.

As they approach the swift river, the gnome looks a little concerned.  So currents could easily carry one of his stature downstream with little chance on his part to get away.  As Landor began to cross the stone bridge, he brought the words of a spell to the front of his mind and held them there, not yet casting but ready in case the bridge gave out.

The group gets over the odd stone bridge easily. To the south down a small flight of steps is a door leading to the east. To the northeast the river continues but it looks like the group if they want to go down it can keep moving.
