With another flanked duegar by Lan, Gar takes its head off with a hard swing!

Lyr and Tai flank the other warrior, hitting him hard but it remains standing.

The creature drops his crossbow, pulls out his short sword and attacks Lyr but misses.

With the last foe dispatched, Landor walked over to where the gnome was bleeding and checked for signs of life. The arrow he had taken through the chest could have been an instantly deadly shot.

The mage is indeed dead, bolt in his chest and lying in a pool of blood as well as a small rock. If the bolt it seems didn't kill him, the rock against his skull did. Lyrian murmurs a small prayer.  She didn't know the mage much at all, but he had been willing and eager, and it was sorrowful that he had perished in this place.  She also murmured a prayer of thanks for the safety of those who had survived.

As Tai rifled through Raf's belongings, Lyrian shook herself to practicality.  "Is anyone needing any supplies?  They shouldn't go to waste.  I believe I would like the magnifying glass, so I can examine things better.  These dwarven traps are devious."  She nods a bit shamefacedly at Gar as she says it.

"I can use the hand of the mage as well.  I'm certain I can find something that will be useful for."  Lyrian takes and rises up, looking down at Raf under his bedroll one more time.  She looks about the room, takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly, and goes to see what the duegar were up to... or where they had come from (such as another exit).

Once the bodies are taken care of, Tai puts the mage beneath some old stones, marking them. He whistles a few times and lowers his head, shaking it and he sighs deeply. He makes sure to get the spellbook and other supplies before he and the others bury him. There are several closed doors: one to the north, one to the south down a set of stairs, one to the northeast, one to the east over a podiam and behind a throne, and one to the southeast-a double door.

Thinking the Wand of Detect Magic might be good for Lyrian? I had Tai take the spellbook and scrolls. I also do add the potion to Gar's sheet.

One of the duegar seems to be alive. The leader. His eyes open slightly as he looks at his dead people. Within seconds, the samurai has its katana aimed at his throat. He whistles and points. The duegar coughs up blood and gasps "Save...me." He gasps "We just want...to forge. That's all. This is our...home."

The rogue doesn't find anything out of place track-wise. It seems like the duegar simply stayed in this area.

But then several more duegar move into the area from where the group entered from. At least five or more.

"Deal. Clean out the undead to the north..east. Clean them all out. And I will show you where the dragon is. But this is our home."

“Deal.”Landor kneels down and places his hand on the Duergar’s wound. A warm glow shines and the wound is closed enough that the leader won’t die. “You’ll live now.”He stands back up and waits for the others to get ready to leave for the undead.

The samurai keeps his weapon against the side of the throat of the duegar, not letting him stand. He caws a few times, glancing at Landor as if rather upset. But a moment later he backs off, sheathing his sword. The kenku glancies at more of the duegar.

The man stands up and grabs his gear. He nods his head to Landor "Good. I have your word."

Lyrian barely breathes and Landor secures their passage, uncertain that the duegar would hold to their word.  But at the thought that there would be undead here, Lyrian shudders.  She's heard more stories than actual accounts of such vile things, and they are horrors she's not eager to meet.  But it was also an evil that couldn't be allowed to linger.

"Is there aught we can do to prepare for fighting the undead?  Maybe set a trap?  Could we lure them to drop in a pit or wander through oiled wood that we could fire?" she asks the group.

Gar, Mumbling in orcish at the fallen body of the mage, bows his head in respect. He grabs the healing potion and two of the short swords, strapping them to his back.

With the duergar still alive, he stood behind Tai, his axe ready glaring at the dark dwarf. The samurai was intimidating enough, but with the towering form of Gar behind him, he was sure the duergar was unlikely to betray them.

...his axe would make sure of that.

With the mention of undead, he looked at his axe. he knew that bladed weapons were less effective against undead. "I've heard Some undead are resistant to bladed weapons....dunno if that is true or now. My axe usually does the trick."

He looked at Landor with a smile. "Plus the priest can help with them as well"

There is a door to the southeast (double), door to the east, door to the northeast, door to the north and door to the southwest. They are told the undead mainly are to the northeast and east. Shall the group go to each one? Tai seems to be against working for the duegar and caws a few times.

Lyrian is not entirely certain of the duegar either, but the undead are certainly a more indescriminate threat.  And if the duegar planned treachery for after the undead had been dispatched, well, they would simply have to be on guard for that.

"Let us take the door to the east," Lyrian suggests.  She takes her time to thoroughly check both the east and northeast doors for traps.  Finding none, at least to her eyes, she stands aside and lets Landor or Gar take point as they go to find their unholy foes.

OOC: Taking 2 minutes each to take 20 on a Search check for the east and northeast doors, for a 35 on both.

The duegar smiles and tilts his head almost as if mocking the cleric. He crosses his arms, with the other duegar waiting.

Tai definatly doesn't seem too happy with the choice but since he has no 'voice' no one really understands its rather hard.

Upon entering a chamber with a small pool of water they hear a weird moaning sound. The moaning begins to sound like dwarven words randomly strung together – its almost hypnotic. There is a corridor to the right and one to the left. As the group moves forwards the sound gets louder and louder. Coming from the left side is...
