With the samurai and the rogue connecting, the rug drops down and looks dead but hard to tell. Tai sticks it a few times and whistles, staring at it. He glances at the rogue and whistles again.

OOC
Well Rogue Rug...my bad.

Rug is dead :)

Gar winces as he untangles from the rug.  At the feel of it, a few ribs are broken and he is bruised. He looks at Landor and nods. "That rug gave me quite the squeeze." he said, walking over, holding his side, his huge axe dragging beside him.

He looks at Lyrian with a smile.  "If you insist on searching, make sure myself or Tai are close....and for the love of the gods, try not to wake any more furniture." Judging by his orcish smile, you can tell the last was a jest

Lyrian is shaking with anger at having missed the murderous rug, but Gar's joke helps her shrug it off.  "Well, I hope grumpy furniture is the least of our problems."  She'll resume carefully checking the desk and the bed for anything of note.

OOC: Taking 20 on both checks, for 35 on each.

Landor goes by and places a hand on Gar, Lyrian, and himself. The blessings of Pelor healed all wounds with his warm blessings.

11:22, Today: Landor Halbrek rolled 28 using 2d8+13.  Cure Moderate Wounds.
11:22, Today: Landor Halbrek rolled 23 using 2d8+13.  Cure Moderate Wounds.
11:22, Today: Landor Halbrek rolled 31 using 3d8+15.  Cure Serious Wounds.

With the healing spread out at one spell each we should be up to full lol.

Gar, feeling the warmth of Landor's healing, nods at the priest, again thankful for his gifts. GAr was never one for magic users, but he knew well the gift of the priestly order.

The barbarian stands and walks over to the woman, looking at the stash. "Nice bit of coin there...but let's take what we can carry for now. We don't know how far yet we hae to go."

It felt to Thoren like he had been standing in the darkness for years, Ha actually had no idea how long he had been where he was in the dark nor even how he got there. He just new that the dark and the silence has driving him crazy for the silence was the worst. his magic was music. the silence was deafening. Even his natural darkvision was no help. Everything was the same temperature where he was so it was all identical.

His mind would wander what had it been a day, a month, a year, or had it actually only been hours. trapped inside his own thoughts was maddening. Then the silence was ended he could here voices, then combat, then more voices. and though he screamed, yelled and even cried not a sound escaped his prison. Then the darkness to was shattered. light glorious light that both soothed and hurt, filled the void that was his existences.

Anger and frustration, replaced loneliness and depression and he struggled trying to cry out, and move. but no matter what he did he stood soundless and motionless. He could both see and hear the 1/2 Orc, elf and human perfectly. but could do nothing to communicate with them in any way. Then the Human slowly pulled his mace and gently poked him with it. It was like an explosive of sensation. HE COULD STILL FEEL! the touch of another it had been so long and still he could make no connection with these strangers.

Something broke inside the bard, and a wave of sadness swept through him and he couldn't even weep.

With nothing bad happening, immediately at least, he holstered his mace and attempted to lift the dwarf out of the dresser and gently lay him down on the ground. He lowered his ear to the dwarf’s mouth listening for breathing while he looked to see if his chest was expanding and contracting. A quick check of the pulse on the wrist was also in order to see if this creature was even alive.

Thoren couldn't believe what happen next. The human put away his weapon, reached into the cabinet, grabbed hold of his armor and pulled him from his prison. Could it be true was he really being rescued. He felt himself being pulled from the box, his whole body tingled with sensation. As he left the box tears left his eyes and unused muscles cramped and his voice his wonderful voice was nothing more then a horse croak. If it were not for the strength of the young human Thoren would have collapsed, ever so carefully he was lowered to the ground,

He felt the young clerics hands on his chest and his neck, he could tell by the touch that this was a healer at work. So he lay motionless unsure himself if he had injuries or not. when the cleric leaned forward over his face, the managed to groan out a soft raspy whisper, wwaaterr

Thoren drinks until the cleric pulls the skin from his lips, if he hadn't been stopped he would have drained the skin. although being held in a sitting position was embarrassing Thoren didn't think he could sit up by himself quite yet, he could feel his strength returning but doubted if he could stand yet. He feared what he would hear if he spoke. his voice was his life but it was something he had to face sooner then later he cleared his throat and.My name is Thoren Stonecutter, I know who I am and that I'm a bard. I also know every item that's in the pack in that cursed cabinet.

He paused and thought for a few seconds, What I don't know is where I am, what I was doing in that damn box, or how long I've been in it.  The only thing I know about that cabinet is that I'll die before I ever get back in it.

Lyrian's eyes goggle as Landor pulls the dwarf out of there, alive after... how long could he have been in there?  She blinks he wakes and drinks the water, quickly reaching in to grab his pack and putting it at his feet.

"Hello, Thoren, I am Lyrian Swift.  You're three day's walk north of Blasingdell, in a redoubt of the legendary dwarven smith Durgeddin the Black. All of us are here to seek the blades that are said to be left in the deepest and best-protected his his vaults, the ones left untouched by his orc foes.  How in the name of all the gods did you end up here?" she asks.

When Lyrian brought over his pack the dwarf opened it and quickly checked it's contents. Oh thank you lass, I would be a little Leary of stickin my arm in there to even retrieve my gear. Well at least I know where I am. can't remember how I got here. The dwarf waves the cleric away. Thank you for the help but I think I can sit on my own for now. Thoren pulls some jerky from his pack and shoves it in his mouth.

As he chews he try's to remember any details about the cabinet and the why, how and when he ended up in it. I'm try in to figure out how I got in that blasted box. Every time I try to concentrate on it my heads starts hurtin somethin fierce, like somethin is blocking my memories.

After eating a little jerky Thoren rises to his feet, he's a little wobbly at first but after stomping his feet to get the blood flowing he feels much better. I owe yall a big dept you've saved my miserable hide today that's for sure. I don't have any wealth, so I can't repay you in coin. But if you'll have me, I'll help you on your search, and do my very best to repay yall for saving my life.

Landor gives the dwarf some space and shrugs his shoulders at his offer. He looks to the others with a cheerful smile. “Well at the very least we would have a dwarf’s permission to retrieve Dwarven made items from the vault. He seems pretty spry too. I say we take him along.”

He looks back to Thoren. “Two things. One is we got some Duergar behind us that we spared. Two, don’t touch any brown mold if you want to live. As long as you got that then you should survive at least a day or two.”

Gar watched and listened to the ongoing situation with what looked like a detached neutral face, but in reality, he was reeling in confusion. The half orc was expecting an empty space, maybe some treasure....but a dwarf!

The barbarian walked up to the dwarf and placed a hand on his shoulder. "My new friend.....no one deserves what you have been put through, and on my life, you will never go back." He hoisted his two handed axe to his shoulder and smiled a half orc smile. "My name is Gar Stormbrow, my father's clan is Irontooth which i have most commonly used. An extra set of eyes and hands is welcome friend Thoren."

The kenku doesn't seem to really like this dwarf. He caws out a few times, sheathing his sword and sits down at the entryway into the room and stares outside of it. Of course hard to like anyone new as it seems they have lost some in the past. How can he trust anyone?

Thank you Gar, in fact thank all of you for both saving me, and allowing me to travel with you. An Elf, Human, 1/2 Orc and if I'm not wrong A Kenku I believe, toss in a singing dwarf and we can accomplish anything. The dwarf pauses to shoulder his pack, then pulls his hand drum around and lets it settle on his left side. Shall we.
