(IC) The End or the Beginning?

The blows from the half-orc slam out and cut the arms off of the hobgoblin who then falls to the ground, dead. Tai glances at the wizard, hand on his sword and waits. A farmhouse lingers in the distance, nothing coming from it.

OOC
So all are dead but the 2 facinated archers. What will you do? I assume you kill them?

Oh make a Spot check too.

"Good going!" Lyrian says to Roywin.  She had been too startled to reach for her new magic in this fight, but now that she had seen its efficacy, hopefully she would be able to do it next time...  "And yes, let us figure out what these fools were about."

OOC: 22:17, Today: Lyrian Swift rolled 21 using 1d20+14.  Spot.

"They looked quite organised. I wonder if they work for a bigger band or if the were waiting for us specifically. We should ask them."

"Do it fast." he said.

Quickly the samurai cuts down the remaining hobgoblins. He slinks into the woodlands and dissapeared. Odd.

Gar winces as he removes the attows from his body, grunting and looking more orcish than ever with the look of anger and pain. He placed his double axe back in the cart and retrieved his bow as he sqinted, looking in the distance.

"Over there...." he said pointing towards the wall near the farmhouse. "There are more hobgoblins there. Can't tell if their armed or not, but there's a few at least."

He looked at the road. "From memory, this road sweeps away from the farm....their may be a path towards it further up. I don't know if they saw us or not, but if they have, it's likely they lie in wait for us"

Roywin tries to see whatever Gar saw.
"I don't see anything from here... should we take our chances and try to continue without being seen? or should we pay them a visit?"
She's not in the mood for more blood, but keeps her crossbow handy and shows in her round of face some concern.
"I would leave them be if you ask me, but I'm a little bit worried about whoever lives in that farm. Maybe the farm is abandoned, maybe they are already dead if they attacked the farm, but maybe they are scared and need it help... If we are going to engage them let me know I have a few spells we can use before."
And looks at Gar, Lan and Lirian.

"I, too, have a couple of spells that could give the hobgoblins pause...  Though I wonder if we should figure out if there are more enemies hidden than just those I've seen.  Just a minute, let me send Ingrid out to look," Lyrian says.  She picks up the brown-and-cream ferret she had befriended and held it up in front of her face. "Ingrid?  Please go sneak over there behind the house where the hobgoblins can't see you, and see if there are any more hidden or coming up the path."  Then she puts the ferret down and watches her scuttle off into the bushes.

OOC: 10:21, Today: Lyrian Swift rolled 13 using 1d20+11.  Hide for Ingrid the ferret familiar.
10:21, Today: Lyrian Swift rolled 14 using 1d20+9.  Listen check for Ingrid the ferret familiar.

After a few minutes, Lyrian concentrates on what she can feel from Ingrid.  "She sees something dangerous, so I think there is more hobgoblins, or more enemies, than just those we spied."

The barbarian moves through the woods as the ferret comes back. Tai isn't visible at the moment. Hard to tell if the hobgoblins are moving.

OOC:
So the group:
Gar is 40' in the woodlands.
Rest of the group is about 200' away from the farmhouse.
Tai isn't visible.

She gets ready to move into the woods, waits for Landor to go with her.
"Shall we move? I'm not good at being subtle, but if Gar is going there, we shouldn't leave him alone. By the way, where did Tai went?"

OOC: wait for Landor to move and I'll move together with him.

Landor keeps advancing. “Plain and simple. We are the bait. Our job is to have them focus on us long enough for Gar to close the distance and tie up any archers. When they converge on him, they should be close enough for us to cast our spells. Then those of us inclined can charge to provide backup.”

Move forward 20 feet every round until Landor sees the hobgoblins reacting to his presence.

Roywin feels the arrow hitting her arm before she seeing it. She shouts in pain and bends over.
"Ahhh! They got me! how can they got from that far away?!"
She rolls to a tree next to the road looking for coverage while she takes the arrow out of her arm. It's a bad wound but she'll recover.
Once she's behind the tree she carefully casts a protection for herself, so she has some additional protection against the archers.
"How do we plan to get there with all these arrows falling from the sky?"
She asks Lan and Lyr.

Move: 5(?)feet to get cover from the tree.
Action: cast Mage Armour. Current AC:18
Free: complain about the pain.

Gar do you plan to go melee or ranged with the bow?

Gar, moving silently through the trees, was solely focused on his job at hand. He could see the goblinoids, but with the wall, he knew the attack would be hard.

He hoped he'd have time to move up with his axe, but he heard the thrum of bowstring and gritted his teeth.

Taking out an arrow, he took aim and fired at one of the goblinoids, hitting it solidly
