Consider the genre we are playing in. Usually, the MU's are either support to the heroes or the bad guys.

Well, yes, but Rokugan said we may be starting and/or staying apart. But if there's an opportunity, Zokiro can be a good support person!  Or she can just support herself.  :D

I support both. Some of you will start together, others seperate depending on what I plan on :) Some of you will meet up as well. Its a sandbox game.

But I am planning on if your in the same clan, you'll be in the same area.

Got a idea:
1. Start with all clan members in the same area (crane, scorpion ect)
2. Start with everyone in different areas?
3. Combination? Whatever you want?

I don't mind number 2

Having the clan members in the same place would be fine, though that's really only relevant for Setsuko and I.  ;)

I am open to all suggestions however if the two of us are going to start from the same location as members of the same clan, we may have to establish individual ranks, etc.

Hmm, if we're both the same level, and both graduates of our respective schools/temples, then our ranks should be roughly equal, but will vary depending on the situation we're in. Physically, Setsuko would be the lead in obstacles and combat, physical training and temple etiquette. Zokiro would be the lead in magical matters, diplomacy, and obscure knowledge.  Together we compliment each other's strengths and shore up our weaknesses.  :)

Unless I believe if there is a samurai in the group I think they are in the higher rank.

But I mean if you are together, you'd probably be friends and treat other as such :)

Sounds good to me. I'm just aware that the campaign background seems to be somewhat focussed on rank and such. :)

Basically its a DND setting using the Rokugan map and different classes. You can still play the basic classes from the PHB though but I'd rather stick to the Rokugan classes.
