Vehicles and Mecha

The Archimedes carries five shuttle craft of the Pelican-class, a civilian variant of the Eagle-class Alliance military drop ship.  These shuttles are large (Corvette scale) with a modular section in the main hull.  It consists of the aforementioned Main Hull (torso), a Crew Module (head), two large wings for atmospheric stability and a Drive/Engineering Module (tail).  It is lightly armored and only the troop drop-ship version is armed.  The design incorporates re-entry and trans-atmospheric capability with a gravitic propulsion system and is rated for deep space and high EM fields typically encountered around magnetic field interactions (eg. Jovian system EM field).

Systems: gravitic propulsion; trans-atmospheric and VTOL capability; space, EM and re-entry environmental protection; cool fusion power plant; virtual controls.

There is a 10-space "storage module" in the main hull that is fitted with modular sections that are mission specific.  These four are currently on board:
1. Mecha recovery bay (all 10 spaces, caries one 1:1 mecha OR 10 road-striker scale mecha)
2. Advanced recon (adds all advanced sensor options except marine suite.  Note that main sensors are in the crew module.)
3. Hospital module (6 spaces of patient care wards (8 people each), 2 operating spaces, one medical supply cache and one space for medical
          personnel (supporting 10 sleeping racks.))
4. Civilian Passenger carrier (all ten spaces converted to passenger compartments, 10 each space.)

This military option is not carried on board:
1. Troop carrier (adds two linked medium beam cannons and 2 spaces for troops; flight MA is reduced to 22.)

Final Weight without any optional packages:  216.75 tons scaled.


This is the standard shuttle aboard Archimedes.  I will happily take suggestions on more modules for the main hull to fulfill other mission profiles.  Adding systems with kills/tons to the mission module will impact MA, as noted above with the drop ship that has a pair of linked Medium Beam Canons from the MKZ standard weapons list.  One Corvette-scale space can fit 10 humans in pilot-seat style comfort.

Work Pod

The Archimedes carries five of these four-armed manned work pods.  They are equipped with gravitic propulsion and can also clamber around the hull at a respectable pace.  Each arm has micro-manipulators, a spotlight and a nightlight along with a low-power laser cutter.  The hand gripper can be easily replaced with a specialized tool as needed.  Resolution intensifiers allow the pilot to see clearly what is happening and can transmit the image back to the ship for technical analysis.

The design is similar to the Thunderbolt Star Furies on Babylon 5 with four wings that also contain the main propulsion units and weapons hard points.

Federated Alliance Survival Flight Suit Mecha Interface Unit

Human-scale Power Armor

 - MV -3, Flight MA 10, Powered Servos adds +3 to pilot’s MA

The Suit is armored to SP 8 / DC 5 all around (in hits.)

Helmet: 8 Hits/SDP, Contains independent sensor system and virtual HUD interface
Torso: 15 Hits/SDP, Contains Gravitic Propulsion units (12 hits worth), Powercell, Homing Beacon, Life  Support
Arm Pieces: 10 Hits/SDP, Contain gravitic propulsion units (4 hits each), and integrated sidearm on one side, extra clips on the other (depending on pilot handedness)
Leg Pieces: 10 Hits/SDP, Contain gravitic propulsion units (10 hits each)

Powered Servos increases HTH damage by +3 hits

Sidearm is an energy pistol (WA +1, Range: 300 m, Damage: 2d6, Shots: 10 per clip, comes with two extra clips.

The power cell is good for 20 hours of independent operation and is charged from the mecha power plant while interfaced.  Counts as a Virtual Control system while interfaced with the mecha.  Independent Sensors only function when separate from the mecha with a 3.5 km range and a 20 km communications range.  Includes Space Environmental Protection.  The suit weighs just under 40 kg.

NOTES: I actually miscalculated my CP costs.  The Starknight is supposed to have Beta Grade Armor on its shield and it supposed to have a single weapons mount to mount its Energy Pool weapon on the undercarriage in Astrojet/fighter mode.
That would make the Starknight cost 158CP, without those two components  its 149.4567CP which is why those components are 'Greyed' out... maybe the GM will be nice and let me keep them?  If not the Energy Pool weapon is not usable in jet mode as it is a 1handed-held weapon.
