Chapter 0: Heraldric Report of the Dragon Lords
"I've sneaky goblins, devious goblins, nasty little goblins, tricky goblins, sly goblins, the problem is that I've also got stupid goblins, cowardly goblins, weak goblins, double-dealing goblins, dishonest goblins, and most of all just plain ol' Goblins," Ratty replies to his Masters. He makes it very clear in an amusing way that despite their predilection to be sneaky bastards - they are still simple goblins who are often disorganized and not particularly bright.
It seems he may have been making a joke, but perhaps he is stating the obvious.
Felgen intercedes "Majesties, the Goblins are indeed sneaky, but they lack the skills necessary to be more than base thieves and thugs. They'll more than likely lack the initiative to explore the caverns, and require strong leadership and supervision if they were to venture too far into the depths. We do use some for hunting and scouting parties in the immediate area, but the results are always quite disappointing."
The Goblin Warlords assembled look down as if to avoid blame.
"What he's saying is true enough, my lord. Goblins can be trained to fight or steal, but we operate in numbers. numbers iz our strength. small bands of Goblins, end up in-fighting and getting rattled easily," Skarsnik adds pragamatically.
"We could perhaps build a training facility and work on that, O Wise Ones..." Astralgyx suggests hopefully. "With some investment, we could hold a competition to delight and entertain as well as find those few goblins with the talents and the brains to do as you ask. I am sure that would be the Dark Moon clan."
