Dice roller link codes

Does anybody have a link to the various methods of creating a link to the dice roller with various settings automatically set?

At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to set the particular character you want to roll for but I'm not sure if it is possible.

Thanks in advance!

 not surer what you mean..you can set the dice roller the amount of dice and what sides..there are  drop down boxes  for  differant  'game's dice'

 as a DM you can roll for a charcter by putting in thier  name  of    type  an NPC in.

 there's a bunch of things you can do with this  site's dice roller. Play around with it... Private rolls  are good  too, so other players  can't see what is goign on for something you want hidden.

As in a direct link to the dice roller.

[dice=1d20+2,1d6  text="roll" memo="Spear Attack & Damage" record=yes]

When you click that link, it opens up the dice roller and has the details populated for rolling 1d20+2,1d6 with each dice recorded and the text "Spear Attack & Damage" in the reason for the roll.

There are other options on the dice roller, I wondered what codes are required to set each one. In particular the character you are rolling as.

Well, it was supposed to be a link. I'm guessing in this forum without a dice roller that it doesn't convert to the link correctly.

I know how to use the dice roller.

This is so that I can set links to my ability checks/skill rolls in my character sheet, then click direct from there to the dice roller without then having to tinker with the dice roller each time I roll.

Lots of set up to start with for lots of time saved forevermore.

Perfect. Thanks.

Shame there's nothing to pre-select your character but everything else is listed. I'd searched that damn help section for ages! Didn't think it would be in the RuBB section.

I suspect there's nothing there about pre-selecting your character because the dice roller automatically defaults to the character of the player accessing it, unless that player has multiple characters.  Since multiple characters seems to be the exception, rather than the rule, nobody's ever worried about presetting which character, because most of the time, it's already done for you.

From the very bottom of Put die roller links in post and character sheets:

rc=<#> rolls as a character, and bo=<#> rolls on behalf of a character.

Generally these options are not required.  Character sheets are aware of which character you are viewing and so will set the link to automatically roll for that character.

You must use the character ID assigned by RPoL for these options -- the easiest way is to view a character profile (or sheet) and look in your browser's address bar for a series of characters such as, "&ci=1558".  In this case, the ID for the character being viewed is 1558.

"On behalf of" is a GM-only option.  Be aware that as a GM, hidden PCs you own will have all their links set to "rc=" (because you own them) meaning that "on behalf of rolls" won't happen from the character sheet (unlike for regular PCs) unless you configure this option.

Example: [dice=1d20 rc=1558]
(roll one twenty-sided die as character 1558)

Example: [dice=2d4 bo=1558]
(roll two four-sided dice on behalf of character 1558)

Yes.  Add "secret=yes" within the brackets of the link code.

I did a few test runs, I don't think it even matters what happens after the '=' in the code.

The character string 'secret' by itself will not do it, but 'secret=yes' will do it (as does 'secret=no', 'secret=0', 'secret=1', 'secret=d', etc).

Does anybody know how to achieve Dice Roller hyperlink to roll two different dice and add them together?

This does not work

[Dice=1d6+1d2 memo="Damage" text="1d6+1d2" record=yes]

The new way is to use the responsive site (it's about to be released anyway), roll the dice as per normal and then link the result into the message.

If you do need the actual link to make a roll then let me know what you mean by not working (eg gives an error, the wrong result etc).

Dice roller link codes

Since I only use my mobile phone I use the charsheet to include all dice rolls as hyperlinks so the data are transfered to the dice roller.

If I use
[Dice=1d6,1d2 memo="Damage" text="1d6,1d2" record=yes]
in the character sheet and I click on it it fills the diceroller config as it should in the "Select" "Manual" entry field. If I then click "Roll the dice" it rolls the d6 and d2 separately without adding it together. Of course it does.

If I put
[Dice=1d6+1d2 memo="Damage" text="1d6+1d2" record=yes]
the only data that is transfered is to put "Damage" in the "Reason for roll" entry. Not any dice config nor indeed changing the system used, e.g. if you have default setting like here the AGE system for the attack but simple non-specific system for damage
WeaponAttackDamage
Bastard Sword[dice=3d6+7 memo="Bastard Sword attack" text="3d6+7" record=yes system=agesystem][dice=2d6+6 memo="Bastard Sword Damage" text="2d6+6"]

Now in the current game I'd like to have a hyperlink to the dice roller to config it to roll 1d6 and 1d2 and when I click "Roll the dice" to add the respective results of each die together.

[Dice=1d6+1d2 memo="Damage" text="1d6+1d2" record=yes]

For this I tried
&#43
%2B
+
and none works.
Both in "&#43" and "%2B" it does put 1d6 on the left side of "Select" but loses the 1d2 completely. In case of "+" no change at all in the top row of dice roller, it keeps the default setting of GM's config.

Should work on the responsive site now.  Yeah you're all getting forced onto that.  (c;

Also added some more error checking as I noticed some odd combinations would (correctly) refused to roll but didn't give clear explanation as to why, should have some better explanation for some.

Aha, tried it on the responsive site.

Unfortunately
[Dice=2d6+1d2+1 memo="Damage" text="2d6+1d2+1" record=yes]
returns this error message:
Invalid dice combination "1" within "2d6+1+1d2".

So a combination of different dice plus a modifier does not work in the dice roller, i.e. even without the hyperlink stuff. Tried it manually, see.

Oh well, thanks anyway. Will work around it, just a comfort issue anyway
