Halflings tend to seem like children to humans, even when their populations overlap considerably.  There are ways to work against this issue, particularly for women, one of the advantages of a more complex fashion language is the ability to make it speak for you.  Lilly's choices vary slightly based on the situation but they always tend to show off how much of a woman, and an adult one at that, she is while remaining flexible and functional.  Even the classy full brimmed black hat she tops it all off with fits snugly enough to both keep itself in place and help manage her long blond hair.
