Jessica ("Jess" or "Jessi" to her friends) is a tall woman of fair complexion, deep red hair, and blue eyes that sparkle when she's not so tired—which is most of the time these days. She smiles a little less often than she used to, and there are a few more lines of care when she does, but she has a bright-eyed awareness that draws in others. There are a few gray hairs that create lighter streaks in her red tresses; whether they're from approaching middle-age, the stress of her life, or both, is hard to say. She has a lilting voice that makes one think she could sing, if she wanted to, and there's a little bit of ferocity that sometimes flares to life behind her eyes—a nibbled lip here, a steely glance there, all suggesting that there is more fire to the woman than meets the eye.
