It has been 80 years since the end of the Matoran Civil War.Peace has once again been achieved, but not without cost. Much of Metru Nui has been destroyed, and tensions still remain, just below the surface. The Makuta are held in fearful respect for their part in ending the war, and while they did achieve peace, the Archives Massacre has left them with great distrust from the Matoran.
Now, tensions once more flare up.
Changes are occurring throughout the Matoran Universe. The balance of power shifts, and in the spaces left, new and greater threats are rising up.
But new heroes rise to meet these threats.
